Global Day of Prayer Endorsed by Apostolos Campus Ministry International

April 23, 2007 -- Apostolos Campus Ministry (ACM) International has announced today its endorsement of Global Day of Prayer (GDOP), a day of repentance and prayer for the healing of the nations, on Pentecost, May 27. On this day, Apostolos Campus Ministry members around the world will join millions in faithful prayer for the transformation of communities and for the glory of Christ to be revealed in the world and blessing and healing to be upon the nations.

Apostolos Campus Ministry chapters at all levels are encouraged to take part in the 10 days of intercession leading up to Pentecost Sunday, when the one day event will take place. The ministry will also engage in service during The 90 Days of Blessing following the Pentecost.

"Around the world, there are Apostolos Campus Ministry members praying every day. Our belief in prayer influences each day we live, as individuals, as an entire ministry, and as part of the Christian body as a whole. Therefore, our involvement in this Global Day of Prayer should also reflect our daily practice of faith in God," commented the International Project Coordinator Kristen Bailey on the international ministry's decision to become involved in this year's GDOP events. "We believe that God will use each of the ten days leading up to Pentecost, and each of the 90 days following this special day, very preciously."

As Apostolos Campus Ministry involvement in the GDOP rises, students are pressing on with a more focused outlook on changing the world through prayer.

"Apostolos Campus Ministry will dedicatedly seek the face of God in prayer," said Bailey. "We won't stop praying until we see the nations healed… The world needs our prayers."

Global Day of Prayer, which started with the vision of Graham Power to hold a prayer day in Cape Town, South Africa, is now preparing for its third year since expanding out of the borders of Africa and into 156 of the 220 nations in the world. Apostolos Campus Ministry wishes to offer its support for this special event in Christianity, which has continued to grow after successfully calling 199 countries to pray for repentance and healing in 2006.
